Request for Everyone I Know...
This is a message to everyone and anyone who has any of my contacts.
PLEASE refrain from sending me messages and SMS's regarding the boycott of Danish products.
When this umma has the courage to deal with the real issues, like children dying everyday in various parts of the Arab world, I will be glad to participate in promoting this campaign.
Until then, actions taken against Danish products are a personal choice. I am not against the action, I am against the campaign.
I wish we would show solidarity for once when human life counts.

I did't understand anything... Why are you against an effective retribution against people who have abused our prophet.
While I am with you 100% that the killing of one muslim is a greater sin then pictures, words or any other method of abuse against our prophet!
However it is a good sign that the people of this ummah still have some dignity and love for the prophet left. and while you may not approve of the boycott you must not forget that any action in a positive direction is good. would you rather we not do any thing at all?
What I would rather is that doing this does not make us forget our real role. This is really what happens. We pray our five prayers, boycott danish products, and go to sleep feeling we've done our best.
We're far short from that, and I refuse to make myself feel good about myself as a muslim by doing something so small as stopping consumption of products that originally constitute nothing more than 0.0000000001% of my life.
That's simply like taking drugs to feel better
no ...
it show dangerous sign
it shows that Muslims are stupid
ignoranta and cowards
they cannt stand against pure autocratic catastrophic regime ( Mubarak tab3an ) ... but they can do some shouts to feel better
this is defined in islam as KEBR
this is the real KEBR !!!
NO .. because loving someone ... is to love him ... to love muhamed is to follow him !!!!
no to shout as donkeys for somethings u dont understand for stupid request and threat them with stupid useless threat !!!!
While I agree with your general concept J.U.H, I am totally against the use of the word "donkeys". You will find that at the top of my blog, I have asked people to stay within certain limits of respecting when stating their opinions. Making stereotypical generalizations is not good... I am in the end, a Muslim. While I shun the manner in which the conscious minds of Muslims is being sedated, I disagree with attacks like this because they do not help my case (or urs) one bit.
I apologize ...
I am muslim too , I didnt mean to insult anyone , I was describing the case and my feelings ... may be the wrong way
:)
You're being Muslim is all the more reason that you need to keep it civil. I share your opinion but we cannot make our voice heard by insulting others. We need to keep cool and rational to bring about any real change.
I stop at one word mentioned here and everywhere else too, "Ummah" and I raise this quest to those who want to think of following and not follow thinking....
Which "ummah" do you (in plural term) mean? The Sunnis or Shiats? and which sect of Sunnah, Wahabi? Malki, Shafie,or Abadi..etc? OR Shiat, but which? Jaafari, Aalawi, Ithna 3ashri, or Emami?
OR could you mean Ahmadia,or Ismalia, or NOI, or Fawatih..etc?
The above list and many more "claim" they are Muslims, they all believe in one God, ALL say Shahada and follow Quran....... Interesting, isn’t it?
Now I agree that there are priorities, but shouldn't someone define his "identity" before he defines his priorities?
disclaimer: I am not expecting answers....
You raise a very good question... a question that has troubled me for long. Is there one set of wrong and right? How can Islam be one and many at the same time? Who is the Ummah? It's all part of the same thing.. We CHOOSE to hang on to our differences as Muslims rather than our common points... just like we choose to hang on to our differences as humans rather than our common points. There is no problem with differting, but when this difference becomes an instrument in the hands of those with ulterior motives to make gains out of fueling our fanaticsm, then we seriously need a wake-up call.
This takes me back to the question of my very first post in this blog: what do we have in common? What do we have in common as people who claim to be Muslims, and what do we have in common as humans?
Like you Sofrata I am not expecting answers... because I honestly don't believe there are any. Humanity is way too subjective for their to be one truth.
the common thing ...
We all exist !!!!
unless am schizophrenic !!
do u exist , or just u r imagination of the mind :D ?
My dear Yaqeen...
We all exist... but in the act of determining what we all have in common, we must also determine how we are different from other beings. Animals exist too.. does that make humans like animals? In the same group? In a subgroup?
It is not enough to say we exist... I need a definition or categorization that can be effective in overcoming all sorts of greed, fanaticism and supermacy. Only then will humanity find salvation.
Let me ask you this (at the risk of being too philosophical): Are you any less human when u cease to exist... when ur dead?
:|
when we die ... de dont live ... but we still exist
existence isn’t living ....
But the bottom line : How are u defining existence ? if being “yaqeen” is a virtual meaning , so I am immortal - even in the Darwinian sense - because the virtual meaning doesn’t disappear ... if it existed once .... then it exist !!!
so I exist … because …. I am a virtual meaning …. with virtual definition
:) OK Mr. Yaqeen,
If I understand this correctly, you're saying existence has nothing to do with being alive. This is exactly my point. Being human is not only about being alive. It's too broad and unrelated a definition. Going back to the topic, I want a set of common factors between all humans that could convince the layman that there is enough in common between him/her and someone who he/she has always held as an enemy, such that they are willing to set aside all supremacy, greed and fanaticism and learn to live in peace. This is what I am looking for... and I guess I will spend my life looking (unless off course someone can venture a good answer).
